School starts soon
1 in 8 Kiwi kids start school hungry.
You can help change that, give to The Salvation Army's Foodbank Project Back-to-School Appeal.
Our Back-To-School Story
My family has a sense of security we haven’t felt in a long time thanks to food parcels from The Salvation Army. We’d been in financial hardship for quite some time with very little left for food after covering essential bills. It was difficult to provide enough nutritious meals for my daughter, my elderly mother and myself and we were at a breaking point when we reached out for help.
‘The kai boxes provide much-needed nourishment and give me a chance to be creative in the kitchen. I’ve been able to prepare frugal yet nutritious meals, and often there are leftovers for my daughter’s school lunches. We make the most of every ingredient we receive.
Knowing my daughter has a proper meal to keep her focused and healthy and is not going hungry gives me peace of mind. The kindness and support we’ve received has truly made a difference in our lives.
Approximately 43,700 Kiwi kids face material hardship. That’s 1 in 8 children without basics like nutritious food. You can help change that.
